Debbie and Jimmy Ballowe - D&J Woodcrafts

Jimmy has spent his whole life in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Debbie moved to Nelson County after college. This is where D&J Woodcrafts has been based for about 20 years.

In the beginning, Jimmy had been dabbling in woodworking and buying woodworking tools. In one of his wood magazines was a silhouette pattern of an old man and woman in rocking chairs. That was cut on a scroll saw and Debbie was immediately captivated. Jimmy then bought Debbie a scroll saw for Christmas that year. With lots of practice, Debbie started making more, and more diverse, items. A business and hobby were born!

Jimmy and Debbie use local hardwoods that have either fallen, or already died. No trees are killed for their ornaments or boxes!
