Lauren Stangil

I grew up in Charlottesville, Virginia and I have been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember.  I enjoy working with oil, acrylic, gouache, watercolor, pen and ink, digital illustration, printmaking, and textiles. I am deeply inspired by the natural world and by vibrant colors.

I believe in the amazing healing abilities of color and nature, and the combination is always the focus in the art I create.

I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University, School of the Arts in Richmond Virginia.  I majored in Fine Art Illustration, part of the Communication Arts and Design Department.

While attending VCU I also had the amazing opportunity to study painting and drawing at the Lorenzo De Medici Art Institute of Florence, in Florence Italy.

In 2007 I founded my greeting card company Lola & Bella Designs and I started illustrating and printing my own greeting cards.  I have been a vendor at the Charlottesville City Market for the past 10 years.

I also enjoy traveling around the country and vending at various arts and craft shows.

You can find me working in my studio in Crozet, Virginia where I am creating new paintings, printing greeting cards, drawing, and sewing pillows.

I also create personal pet portraits from photos. Pricing and sizing is available in the Shop section of my website.

My greeting cards are currently available for sale in Charlottesville Virginia at Rebecca’s Natural Food, Integral Yoga Natural Foods, Feast!, Batesville Market, Misty Mountain Resort Camp Store and the Crozet Artisan Depot in Crozet Virginia.
