Claire Wayand
From a young age, my life was shaped by art, a talent and passion I inherited from my mother. I grew up taking art classes and was even given the opportunity to paint a mural for my elementary school library.
My dedication to art continued to grow through middle school, where I
was accepted into the Governor's School for Art. In high school, I continued to win art awards and even earned second place in a $10,000 greeting card scholarship contest as well as winning a drawing contest for a local organization’s t-shirts. It was during this time that I discovered my love for pointillism and pen and ink drawings.
After high school, I pursued my passion further by studying graphic design at James Madison University, graduating in 2018. While there, I took a printmaking class, a new medium for me,and I have recently returned to this type of work. My motivation stems from a desire to create beautiful, unique, and one-of-a-kind gifts for people. My work is deeply influenced by nature, with a special focus on animals, landscapes, and scenery. I find excitement in bringing these elements to life through my detailed, hand-crafted process.
