Laurel Secsher

In my art, I work to combine color and shape together into something visually appealing and functional; something useful in many other ways than decoration. My inspiration is usually partially taken from the work around me as well as other glass artists, but is also very heavily influenced by my mood and emotions that particular day. I’ve always loved everything about the material, and one of my biggest challenges is sometimes accepting that there are many things about it that often make it unpredictable, which despite annoying me half the time, is also one of the things I love most about working with glass. It’s a material I truly respect because it likes to do what it wants, and trying to work against it has never gotten me anywhere!
