Kori Price
Kori Price is a multi-disciplinary artist, photographer, and candle maker based in Charlottesville, Virginia. Originally from Culpeper, Kori has been proud to call Central Virginia home for most of her life and is passionate about telling the stories of her community.
Kori holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech and seeks to maintain a balance between her technical and creative interests with her work. She is a founding member of the Charlottesville Black Arts Collective and currently serves as their president. Kori has been a resident artist at New City Arts Initiative as well as a writer in-residence at McGuffey Arts Center.
Her work has been exhibited throughout Charlottesville most notably at New City Arts
Initiative, The Paramount Theater, The Jefferson School African American Heritage Center, and Second Street Gallery. Kori’s passion for candle making began in September 2024 after taking a
serendipitously offered candle making class during a conference. She was immediately hooked after smelling dozens of fragrance oils. That evening, Kori ordered a candle starter kit and began writing down ideas for her first line of candles. After spending the 9 hour drive home from the conference brainstorming, Kori had the makings of her candle business solidified and
had settled on the brand “Yes& Candles”. “Yes& Candles” is a nod to her
commitment to saying “yes” to life’s multitudes and making space for more
creative outlets when they call.
