Lori Jakubow

ART TO LIVE BY

“I am fascinated with color, printing, replication and the branding of art.  With that in mind, I launched my business, Lori Jakubow |art to live by| in 2010.

I enjoy creating art-inspired merchandise for you and your home, featuring my original paintings and monotypes.”

Lori successfully translates her original art onto all natural textiles; pure silks and cottons, merging fine art and luxury with things we use everyday. Her work continues to be predominately figurative, expressive with big strokes and bold color. You will see influences from classical architecture, sculpture, and portraiture. Her merchandise is unique, high quality, and produced in limited editions.

Lori earned a BA major in Studio Art from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, with concentrations in both oil painting and life drawing and a minor in Human Development.  She enjoys working in various media as a designer and as a Virginia SWaM certified business—small and women-owned.

Lori Jakubow is a visual artist and product developer working from her home studio in Charlottesville, VA. As a painter and a printmaker, she often marries these processes in her art work.

In addition to C’Ville Arts, Lori is a member of the Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center and a former member owner at New Town Art Gallery, Williamsburg, VA. Visit her website at lorijakubow.com.
