As our featured artist for the month of March, Laura Vik will share a new collection of her unique and functional pottery.

Laura began her practice of pottery 18 years ago at PVCC. She joined C'ville Arts 4 years ago and currently works from her home studio. Laura uses different techniques to create textures that invite you to want to touch and connect with a piece.

Often the texture will create a sense of age or history. Her surfaces are most often matte and may be enhanced through carving, slips, or alteration of shape. Gaps in her pieces invite you to take a closer look and she hopes you will come do just that.

This exhibit will be open through the month of March.
