C’ville Arts is pleased to showcase the works of Sigrid Eilertson. Inspired by her love of nature, folklore and fairytales Sigrid has created a mixed media series of masks and paintings. Come see her at the gallery on Friday, May 2nd from 5-8pm at our First Friday art opening.
Sigrid’s masks are created out of coconut shells, polymer clay, found objects and natural materials. The expressive features and the use of botanical and organic materials embody the magic of tree nymphs.
Her accompanying paintings equally reflect this feeling of magic and mystique that only nature can provide. These mixed media paintings are created with watercolors, India ink, collage and metallic foil.
Sigrid Eilertson is a mixed media artist, art therapist and art educator. She has been very active in the Charlottesville arts community since 2007. You may recognize her Tree Throne and Neptune’s Cove at the Looking Glass inside IX Art Park. Her hobbies include bird watching, snuggling animals and of course nature walks.
