C’ville Arts Features – “Reclaimed” - During December
Charlottesville, VA, November 18th, 2022
Our dynamic and talented mixed media artist, Sigrid Eilertson, will be the featured artist for the month of December. She will be at the gallery to share her impressive, colorful collection made of entirely recycled materials. Please join us during the Historic Downtown Malls’ First Friday celebration on December 2nd from 5 – 7 p.m.
Sigrid Eilertson is full of creative energy and passionate about her work in every corner of her life. Spreading her liveliness and vigor comes naturally to this artist and dedicated community member. Her vivacious personality shines bright throughout this exhibit, filled with the imaginary creatures she develops by using reclaimed materials that would otherwise be headed to the dump. Her ability to see new life in ordinary objects is as amazing as it is delightful.
Eilertson is known for her giving spirit and community involvement. She is excited to announce 10% of all sales from this show will go to Wild Virginia, (wildvirginia.org) one of her favorite non-profit organizations.
In this show, Sigrid invites her audience to participate in a “Reclaimed” contest by bringing a detergent bottle with your name and contact info on it to the show and drop it off. At the end of the exhibit, she will randomly select one of the bottles, make an original mask out of it and return it to the owner as a wonderfully transformed creature for free! It’s a win-win-win deal; the environment wins, Sigrid wins, and so can you!
Tis the season of giving and her cheerful work will brighten any room, home or work space with one-of-a-kind charm. Become a participant and enjoy the show!
