C’ville Arts Features – “The Planets” - During July
Charlottesville, VA, June 17th, 2022
Gifted glass artist and jeweler, Diana Branscome, will be the featured artist at C’ville Arts in July. She will be at the gallery to share her impressive collection during the First Friday event on July 1st, from 5 to 7.
In this show, Diana brings her latest work inspired by the night sky and “The Planets”. She’s had a lifelong fascination with the universe and has been interested in the marvels and beauty of the sky since she was a kid. This collection reflects the unique characteristics of planets near and far, ranging from colorful layers of a gas atmosphere like Jupiter to the frosty blues and whites of the moons or milky way above.
Branscome produces her own gems from art glass and recycled bottles by breaking them and then firing various shapes and sizes at more than a thousand degrees Fahrenheit until they become delicate droplets for use in her popular line of jewelry.
Diana has established her own creative language that speaks with a poetic nature throughout her line of jewelry. Diana’s work has a chorus of voices likely to sing the songs of your heart. Come enjoy the music for your eyes.
