Gillian Ruffa of Striking Metal Jewelry and Gillsies hand-dyed scarves

Kaleidoscope of Colors is a celebration of texture, transformation, and nature’s spontaneous

beauty. This show features two unique but interconnected art forms: ethereal scarves created using the ice-dyeing technique, and organically aged copper jewelry finished with colorful patinas. Each piece is a wearable exploration of movement, chemistry, and color.

Through ice dyeing, melting ice carries powdered pigments across fabric in a slow, unpredictable dance—no two scarves are ever the same. The copper patina jewelry complements this process, embracing oxidation to produce blues, greens, and warm earth tones across hand-formed metal surfaces.

“This collection is all about embracing change,” says Gillian Ruffa. “The materials react with

their environment, and the outcome is always a surprise—bold, soft, wild, and beautiful.”

Come meet Gillian at the gallery on Friday, June 6th from 5-8pm at our First Friday art opening, and see her work on display throughout the month of June.
