Genevieve Story seeks to bring a deeper understanding to her audience and raise awareness for all creatures surrounding us in the natural world every day. Using her talent and creativity she hopes to elicit an awakening for their lives and environment and how human beings impact their survival on so many levels.
Genevieve expresses her passions using a technique called Pyrography. It is the art of decorating materials, in her case leather, with burn marks resulting from the controlled application of a heated object. She has developed a master level skill set and will focus this show on her brightest passions and joy, our wildlife. Her creatures are innocent, polite and rather charismatic. Her portrayals have a magnetism about them, causing a sense of closeness with attention to detail and genuine warmth, she communicates for them in every composition. Becoming closer to their world is a step toward gaining a new consciousness, an openness to understanding these lovable living things are, our silent neighbors.
“We See You” is an exhibit that will charm your heart, heighten your awareness for the natural world, and hopefully cause reflection about how your responsiveness can give wildlife a better chance. In this collection, Genevieve uses her own visual language to provide them an important voice.
